“Dollar Photo Booth” – New Exciting Photo Booth Idea For Weddings

Recently Photo Booth Experts participated in the wedding reception of Jessica & Matthew. The night was a huge success and as a bonus we came away with a new and exciting idea that we would like to pass on to you. Instead of the traditional or “Dollar” dance often seen at receptions, Jessica & Matthew decided to have a “Dollar Photo Booth”.

How it works is just like the “Dollar” dance where a person pays a dollar (or more) to have a dance with the bride or groom during the reception. The only difference is that with the “Dollar Photo Booth” instead of a dance the guest(s) can pay to go into the photo booth with the bride and groom to get a personalized strip of pictures taken. The guest gets a copy and of course the bride and groom get a copy as well. Talk about your ultimate party favor. These photos become a wonderful keepsake for the guests and the bride and groom.

The fact is that a lot of brides and grooms will shy away from a money dance because it can slow things down and take time away from open dancing. As a result they are afraid guest will get bored and leave during a money dance.

Now you can have the best of both worlds. With the “Dollar Photo Booth” nothing in the evening has to slow down. People who want a picture can pay their dollar and join the bride and groom in the photo booth while at the same time the dance floor stays open for dancing.

Who would have ever thought 5 years ago that a photo booth would become a main staple at Wedding Receptions and other special occasions? Photo Booth companies have sprung up one after another to cash in on this unique experience that has not yet seen its peak.

There are so many Photo Booth companies to choose from and it can be challenging to decide which photo booth is right for your event. Now you may be asking yourself what we mean by “right for your event”. Aren’t all photo booths the same?

The problem is that the photo booth boom for parties and weddings is relatively new and as a result there has not yet been a precedent set on what makes a successful photo booth at parties. The photo booth industry is still in the experimental stages of what a photo booth for weddings should offer. Multiple Photo Strip options are now available

Because our photo booths fit up to 10 people we offer the option to have multiple strips printed so that everyone receives a copy to keep.

Our standard rental package includes two photo strips for each photo session. Typically one strip goes into your scrapbook (optional) and the other strip goes to the guest. But what happens when there are more than two people that go into the photo booth?

Want to really spice up your photo booth rental? One of the often overlooked options is the use of props. Adding fun props for the guests to use as they go into the photo booth will have a dramatic impact on the fun. Many photo booth companies will offer props for an additional cost or you the customer can supply your own. Either way props are highly recommended because of the fun they encourage.

Let the party begin…

Props can be anything from crazy hats to sunglasses. With this option guests can choose from a variety of props to use as they enter the photo booth. Not everyone who rents a photo booth will go with the prop option but it is absolutely astonishing the difference in fun that adding simple props will make.
Keep this in mind. People don’t rent photo booths because they want their guests to go in and take serious mug-shot style pictures. People rent photo booths for one reason. Photo booths are fun! Props add a whole new dimension in capturing that fun and give people an excuse to act silly. After all, those silly fun pictures are what most people are trying to accomplish when they rent a photo booth.

How to get your props

There are two ways to go about getting props for your photo booth rental. The first way is through the photo booth rental company. More times than not they will have props they can supply for you. Just know that there may be a fee for this but it will be worth the additional expense.
The second way to get props is to supply them yourself. You can order them online or you can go to a local store for them. Plan on spending anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00 and make sure you get a variety of things for your guests to choose from. At the event place the props on a table near the photo booth or in a box next to or inside the photo booth.

Types of props

There are all kinds of props that you can use for your photo booth rental. What you use really is limited only by your imagination. The following is a check list of some fun prop ideas:

Crazy hats
Sunglasses
Masks
Scarves
Hawaiian Leis
Mustache and/or beards

To get ideas you can browse the web and look at samples of photo booth pictures. You are bound to see lots of props that will give you plenty of ideas.

Remember the mission

After Prom Photo Booth

These photos was taken at our latest photo booth rental for an after prom party. We are finding the photo booth has been the most talked about item during and after the events we have done so far.

During the 5 hours of this after prom the students couldn’t get enough with groups up to 12 piling in non-stop throughout the night. Just another example of the many different types of events that a photo booth can really enhance.

This post-prom was casual and it is important to keep in mind that all of our photo booth attendants will dress appropriately depending on the event.

Photo Booth Scrap Booking a MUST HAVE!

Not all events that we provide a photo booth for use our scrap booking service. The reason is because some events are not geared towards honoring a person(s). For instance, a reunion is an event honoring a large group of people. In other words there isn’t just one or two people that being honored so if a scrapbook was compiled the question would be who to give it to at the end of the night.

When an event comes around in which a person or persons is being honored like a birthday, wedding, anniversary etc. a scrapbook is a MUST HAVE option when renting a photo booth. Imagine being a bride and groom or the birthday girl and being handed a scrapbook of all the photos that were taken in the photo booth at the event. Not only do you get the pictures but your guests have had the opportunity to sign and write anything they want next to the pictures. WHAT A GREAT KEEPSAKE!

For events that are honoring one or two people the scrapbook is a MUST HAVE option!

Photo Booth Size?! It makes a difference

Is there strength in numbers? Absolutely and the later into the reception it gets the more people want to jump in the photo booth and not just one or two people at a time. We have seen time and time again groups of 5 to 8, 10 or even 12 people who want to all pile into the photo booth (see pics below).

The fact is that the more people that are in the booth the more fun the pictures become.
When booking a photo booth it is always important to consider this. Some photo booths fit only 1-3 people. With Photo Booth Experts we have designed our De Luxe Photo Booths to fit groups up to 10-15 people.

Photo Booths Book Fast

Photo Booth Experts is starting to fill most of its dates for 2010. It has been amazing how quickly photo booths have become the must have item for wedding receptions. At the recent bridal shows back in January we found that only about 1 in 10 of the Brides who came to our booth had never heard of having a photo booth for a wedding reception.

Even with those brides there was immediate interest. As we continue to book our 2010 dates we recommend getting your photo booth booked the moment you have made your decision to get one.

New Years Eve Photo Booth Rental

It was great to close out 2009 with another exciting photo booth rental.
Photo Booth Experts were present at the New Years Eve reception for Sandra and Brent.

What a fun crowd and the later the night got the crazier the picture became. This was one of those night when the props made a huge difference.

Fantastic Photo Booth Idea

Photo Booth Experts recently provided a Photo Booth rental for a wedding reception. To encourage participation in the photo booth the Bride and Groom provided note cards that said “Say Cheese”.

These cards were placed on the dinner tables, gift table, and at the bar. There was a huge reaction from these note cards and the participation from the guests was more that we’ve seen in a long time. “Say Cheese” note cards are highly recommended.

How to order reprints of the original photo strip

Each picture prints two identical photo strips. That gives you one photo strip for a guest and one for your scrapbook.

This however does not mean that everyone else that was in the photo booth does not get a picture.

Thanks to our newest upgrade to the software you can now have as many reprints as you want anytime after the event, for an additional fee.

The original photo strip that was taken now comes with a unique number located at the bottom of the strip. That number can be used to get as many reprints as you need.

You will be asked to fill out an order form and to include the number from the bottom of the original photo strip.

Once your request has been submitted to us you will receive a payment link in your email. As soon as your payment is complete your reprint(s) will be mailed to you.

The Photo Booth rental was awesome last Saturday. It was a very unique Halloween style reception. Keeping an eye on the photo booth was a very special guest that was not putting up with any shenanigans.

Actually a few folks drug this guy into the photo booth with them for some really cool pictures.
